Keeping Storey Strong with Smart Growth and Small Town Values
My name is Damian Plumb, and I am running to become your next Storey County Commissioner for District 2 (Virginia City Highlands). I have lived in the Virginia City Highlands since 2012, after being introduced to the area by a family friend whose property I helped maintain for years. I quickly fell in love with the community and made it my home.
In my professional life, I am a manager at Fire Vent, a company that builds products to support training for fire departments and other first responders. I have extensive experience in management, and those closest to me, my family, friends, and colleagues believe my skills in leadership, creative problem-solving, and thinking outside the box would make me an effective commissioner. I had originally planned to run for this position in 2030, but with Commissioner Carmona stepping away sooner than expected, I am ready to serve our community. My employer is fully supportive, providing the flexibility to dedicate the time needed to being an effective commissioner.
One of the many key issues facing our region is the traffic generated to and from the industrial park. I am actively exploring innovative, practical solutions to address transportation challenges and improve mobility for residents and businesses always with an eye toward what will benefit our community most. The revenues generated from the Industrial Park allow us to dedicate the resources needed to improve our infrastructure throughout the county. It is important that we continue to protect that investment. I am committed to bringing fresh ideas, strong problem solving, and dedicated service to the commissioner position. I would be honored to earn your support and I will work hard for the residents and businesses in Storey County.
